About Kentucky Agriculture Training School (KATS)
The Kentucky Agriculture Training School is comprised of researchers and extension specialists working together to offer quality hands-on agricultural workshops. Participants will benefit from the interactive in-depth training which will equip them with the information they will need during various stages of the growing season. The goal is to help educate those attending so that they can make more informed decisions regarding crop management and production.

February 26: Pattern Testing for Drone Applicators (Princeton, KY)
May 28: Crop Scouting Workshop (Princeton, KY)
Training is comprised of individual scouting sessions in the areas of disease, growth staging, weed identification, and soil nutrition. This is a beneficial workshop for new and experienced producers, agriculture interns as well as a great refresher for others
July 23: KY High School Crop Scouting Competition (Princeton, KY)
Teams of 4-6 students will compete in hands-on, interactive field scouting exercises related to corn, soybean and tobacco rotating through various stations
August 27: Pest Management Workshop (Princeton, KY)
A hands-on in field workshop where topics will included the latest research on corn and soybean diseases and more
TBD: Drone Pilot Certification Prep Class (Madisonville, KY)
An intensive workshop to prepare candidates for the FAA's part 107 Drone Pilot Certification Exam
TBD: Soil Properties Workshop
We will examine soil pits with distinctly different profile properties to discuss how they will influence water and nutrient retention and delivery
